KCK, like they call it on the news.

I flew to Kansas City at the crack of dawn last Friday for my friend Brian's wedding. He's a great friend of mine, and has been since my early college years. He's one of those friends that you can go for three years without talking to, but when you do, it's right back to where you left off. Usually involving sarcasm on his part. Ha.

Brian, Brandon, Lucas and Joe are all from Winterset, Iowa, and when I first met Lucas in English class in 1996 at ISU, I met Joe, Brandon and Brain soon after. I spent a lot of time with these guys in college at the (they were all Sig Eps), probably too much, but we have been friends ever since and have now seen each other through living abroad, long relationships, weddings, etc. It's fun to be able to see these guys, too bad it's only once in a while! Too bad, too, that I accidentally drank a bit too much Chardonnay. OOPS. Ha.

I also got to catch up with the Redstone family on Saturday. It was so much fun to be able to see their house, see those kids (growing like WEEDS), and catch up with Troy and Kristalynn. We had a great dinner and I learned a lot about gardening and compost piles. ;) Ha ha, no really, we had a very nice time chatting. I even got to help with one of their Mac problems, so I felt pretty important. I think I earned my dinner. ;)

Here are some pictures from the wedding. I was happy to be without the kids for the weekend, but really missed Nathan (well of course I missed my kids too, you know what I mean ;) ). I didn't even bless the dance floor with my presence until the traditional interlocking swaying circle of Sig Eps and friends for "Piano Man" by Billy Joel.
